C++ .NET MMO Flight Simulation Multiplayer Server Architecture
Led a 5-engineer team to transform Microsoft Flight Simulator X — a single-player, combat-unaware platform — into a fully featured combat MMO. Architected the integration layer connecting an external MMO/ATC engine (PilotEdge) with dynamic combat mechanics, built weapon physics systems from scratch, and engineered server-side wiring for custom aircraft and pilot loadouts. Designed and delivered a multiplayer mission framework that extended FSX well beyond its original design intent. Partnered closely with mission content creators and third-party aircraft developers to ensure seamless integration and adherence to the standards expected by a highly technical, simulation-focused community.
